Animal Pathogens Subcommittee

The Animal Pathogens Subcommittee promotes communication and coordinated interagency responses to natural and agricultural invasive animal pathogens.

Animal pathogens cause many diseases of economic importance to U.S. livestock and poultry industries. Some of the most closely watched animal diseases, include: mad cow disease, brucellosis, leptospirosis, and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome. These and other pathogens may also contaminate foods and otherwise endanger human health.
